400 adults and children to receive a parcel of goodies for the holiday
March 28, 2024 135 hampers have been assembled by volunteers at Hounslow Community Foodbox for delivery to over 400 and adults and children over the Easter Holidays. The packages, which were put together last Saturday (22 March), include a range of essential food items, teas and coffees, festive chocolate eggs, and gifts tailored for adults and children alike. Unique to this year's offering is the inclusion of a recipe kit, designed to provide vulnerable families with an opportunity to come together in the kitchen. Brentford FC has donated pictures personally signed by the team's players. Complementing these hampers are Easter cards designed by the children from Grove Park Primary School. Hilton London Heathrow Airport also donated Hot Cross buns and other gifts for the residents to enjoy. For the third year running, Alexanders Removals & Storage has supported the initiative with its staff helping out with packing and its premises used. Alexanders' team of drivers are out on the streets, ensuring each hamper is personally delivered throughout the week leading up to Easter Sunday. Director Alex Pope said, "We are delighted to again support the local community at Easter and we hope the hampers provide some help and happiness to the families. The entire team at Alexanders takes immense pride in offering hands-on assistance and making a tangible difference in the lives of those around them. " Honourable Alderwoman Corinna Smart, Chair on behalf of the Trustees at the FoodBox, said “The FoodBox is immensely grateful to have continued support and would like to thank Alexanders, Hilton London Heathrow Airport, Brentford FC, Grove Park Primary School, and everyone who supported us to help deliver Easter joy to vulnerable residents in our community.” Hounslow Community Foodbox collects food parcel donations at the Rose Community Centre in Brentford (TW8 8NT).
