Gunnersbury Park & Museum is looking to recruit new trustees of its development trust including a Chair of the Board.

A recent reorganisation saw the oversight of the management of the park transferred to the trust which has charitable status.

Now residents of Ealing and Hounslow are being invited to apply for roles which would enable them to shape the future of the local amenity.

Suitable candidates would be expected to have two or more of the following qualifications:

• knowledge, understanding and experience of the heritage sector
• experience of managing or commissioning services (for example relating to parks, museums, historic buildings, sports activities)
• experience in leisure, hospitality and/or events industries
• commercial/entrepreneurial expertise
• expertise in one of: fundraising, communications/marketing, community engagement, heritage and cultural sector, public parks and green spaces, accountancy, project management/strategic planning, or HR

The recruitment process is being managed by Gunnersbury Estate (2026) CIC which says in a statement, “For the role of Chair we are looking for someone who will also bring strategic drive, has a high level of integrity, excellent facilitation skills, prior board experience, an understanding of both commercial and not for profit sectors, as well as appreciation of and commitment to the public service/stewardship role.

“To ensure an effective and credible Board we wish to achieve a gender balance, as well as diversity in terms of ethnicity and cultural background. For the same reasons, applications are welcome from people of all ages, and from people with disabilities, and we are committed to providing reasonable access adjustments as required.”

Applicants can apply to become a trustee or chair of the Gunnersbury Museum and Park Development Trust via the online form or post a hard copy of their CV and Cover letter to the Office of the Gunnersbury Museum & Park Development Trust Charity, Gunnersbury Park House, Popes Lane, London, W5 4NH.

The application closing date is Friday 9 September at 5pm and interview dates are expected to be in early October.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.
