Controversial Mini-golf Course Finally Opens in Gunnersbury Park | |
15-hole course and licensed café on site of the old bowling green After much delay, the new mini-golf course has finally opened in Gunnersbury Park in time for a heatwave. The 15-hole course and new café with a large outdoor seating area have been built on the site of the former bowls club which was controversially ousted by the park’s management. Only a determined battle through the planning process enabled the new facility to be built. Conrad, the marketing manager of the club says, “We are really excited by the design of our new 15 hole mini golf course. A great emphasis has been put on the landscaping with detailed planting whilst retaining the original perimeter borders and hedging. The club is proving very popular in the sunny weather and many people are taking the opportunity to try it out but there are one or two grumbles about the cost with a round costing £11 for anyone over 15 and £9 for those under that age. A family of four can buy a ticket for £36. This pricing is consistent with other Putt in the Park facilities in London including the one in Acton Park. The opening times are 9am-7pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-8pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
