A new version of Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol, is to be presented as a live radio play in the renovated Boston Manor House.

The production will include live singing of traditional Christmas carols in the State Drawing Room of the picturesque Jacobean house.

It will be the first major series of performances to be held inside the venue since its reopening this July after a five-year restoration programme, which has seen it completely refurbished with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a range of other funders.

Dominic Allen will take the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, with Sophie Spencer as The Ghost of Christmas Past, Freddie Scrooge, and others, Danni Payne as The Ghost of Christmas Present, Fan Scrooge, and others and Heather Wilson as The Ghost of Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, and others.

Jack Fairey has written the script and will direct with Amy Tickner as Associate Director and Niamh Floody as Producer.

Performances will take place from 5- 24 December at 7pm Tuesday to Saturday with 2pm matinees on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There will be no shows on the 11, 13, or 18 December

The staging will be by The Arts Centre Hounslow which was established in 2015 by founders Philip Ryder and Jonathan Ashby-Rock. Over the years, the Arts Centre has evolved and expanded its offerings to include facilitating the running of Hounslow Wellbeing Network, running multiple annual festivals, and presenting its yearly, national award nominated professional pantomime.

Tickets can be bought online and cost £15 for adults and £11 for concessions with family tickets available.

Boston Manor House is on Boston Manor Road (TW8 9JX).
