London Overground services on local branch suspended
June 24, 2024 Services on London Overground were suspended for most of this Monday (17 June) after the police were called to an incident near Kensington Olympia station. Trains stopped running on the line at 4.20am and there was no service from Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction beyond the evening rush hour. The disruption had a knock-on effect on Southern Rail services as well and National Rail advised passengers to allow an extra half an hour for their journey. A man had climbed onto a roof at Russell Gardens Mews which runs parallel to the train lines. The police say that he was observed throwing a number of items onto the track . This man came down on Tuesday (18 June) and he has been admitted to hospital. There was a similar incident around the same time nearby when a man climbed on the roof of Sacred Heart School on Hammersmith Road but there is not believed to be any connection between the two events. If you need someone to talk to, Samaritans are available to contact any time day or night by calling 116 123.
