A new campaign aiming to raise £100,000 by March 2026 has been launched by H&F Giving, an independent charity supporting grassroots organisations in Hammersmith and Fulham. Titled A Better Hammersmith and Fulham, the initiative calls on 100 local businesses, individuals, and community groups to become “Champions” and help fund projects addressing poverty, isolation, and inequality.

The campaign follows the publication of a report earlier this year, Building a Strong and Connected Community, which highlighted significant social challenges in the borough. According to the report, one in three children in Hammersmith and Fulham are growing up in poverty, and nearly half of residents over the age of 65 are income deprived. The research also pointed to rising levels of loneliness, particularly among young adults and older people.

Louise Wilson, Executive Director of H&F Giving, said the findings presented a “stark picture” and underscored the need for coordinated community action. “We are determined to do something about this,” she said. “The money raised will go towards supporting some of the incredible charities and grassroots organisations in our borough that do frankly amazing work.”

H&F Giving was established in 2018 in partnership with Hammersmith United Charities and Dr Edwards & Bishop King's Fulham Charity. It is part of the wider London’s Giving movement, which promotes place-based giving across the capital. Since its founding, the charity has distributed more than £1.8 million to local organisations, supporting initiatives ranging from digital literacy to refugee support and cost-of-living relief.

The current campaign forms part of a broader ambition to raise £1 million by 2028, with the goal of expanding support to more residents and community groups. In the past year alone, H&F Giving has funded 50 organisations, reaching over 10,000 people across the borough.
