Artists At Home Xmas Auction Goes Live

Proceeds will go to support The Upper Room charity

Artists at Home Auction Raises £6,870 for The Upper Room

The Artists At Home Christmas Charity auction is now live and will be running until this Sunday (28 November).

39 artists have donated over 90 items to be auction with a minimum of 50% of the proceeds going to The Upper Room. Many lots will provide 100% to the charity.

The inaugural online auction in 2020 raised £6,870 for The Upper Room so, members of Artists At Home are seeking generous bidders to buy art and help the charity again this year.

Kathryn Davey, Chair of Artists At Home said, "We are so thrilled to able to support the Upper Room charity again this year. Many have unfortunately fallen into hard times throughout the pandemic, so it seems even more important than ever to support the vulnerable and homeless in our local community. Our artists are donating a minimum of 50% of the bidding price, and some 100%, which we hope will make a real difference this winter."

Bidding is on the Jumblebee auction platform and begins 10am Wednesday 17 November, 10am and closes 9pm Sunday 28 November. Last year some bidders made a fun evening of the last night and held auction supper parties with the leader board on-screen!

“With the Chiswick property market proving resilient it was imperative that we shared a part of our success as selling agents at a time when so many vital events to raise funds were unable to take place.

“Going beyond what many charities will provide, The Upper Room are impressive for thinking about not just the immediate need but the ‘what’s next’ by helping individuals find jobs, offering counselling and even courses for learning to drive.

“It’s these factors that make the charity that much more stand out and deserving of support.”

Artists at Home was the first event of its kind in London – founded by artists Julian Trevelyan and Mary Fedden in 1973 and initially incorporating only a handful of studios. It has now grown to occupy a three-mile radius of Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush and has become a local institution – providing the public with both an opportunity to view and purchase original art and a chance to see where the artist works and lives.
