Venue says move necessary to bring charges in line with local alternatives
Watermans has announced that it is to increase charges in its on-site car park from 6 October. It says it has decided to review its pricing to be inline with local alternatives. It is understood that use by people not visiting the centre was making it more difficult for patrons to find a space. There are 84 spaces on the site including those in a covered space. Free parking is offered for 30 minutes for those picking up tickets but a vehicle registration number must be entered on a machine and a ticket displayed. The charge for one hour is being increased from £1.50 to £2.00 and two hours parking doubles in prices from £2.00 to £4.00. Three hours now costs £5.00 as opposed to £3.00 and all-day parking is up from £8.00 to £12.00. Charges apply from 8am to midnight seven days a week and no overnight parking is allowed. There are spaces reserved for disabled visitors on the upper level, but a BLUE BADGE must be displayed if you use one and you must register your number plate at the Box Office in order to validate your free parking. Additional parking is available in the multi-story carpark 300 metres to the west of Watermans behind the Premier Inn. There is secure cycle parking on the terrace outside the Box Office. The car park is managed by Total Parking Solutions Ltd.
