ASLEF Calls Off Planned Industrial Action on Tube
Both unions have now cancelled strikes after revised offers
ASLEF says it has been forced into a position where it needs to strike

Train drivers’ union ASLEF has become the second to make a late cancellation of industrial action on London Underground.
Its members were due to walk out this Thursday (7 November) and again the following Tuesday. The action was expected to have resulted in a total shutdown of the tube on both days.
The move comes after continuing talks with management which, the union says, have yielded a ‘significantly’ improved offer which will be put to members later this week.
Previously ASLEF’s representatives had said that the strike wasn’t about pay but working conditions.
Finn Brennan, from ASLEF, said the union was pleased that the strike action had been averted.
TfL’s Claire Mann said, “We believe we have made an offer to our trade unions that is fair, affordable, good for our colleagues and good for London and we urge our trade unions to continue working with us.”
Last Friday (1 November), the RMT union called off its planned strike following a revised offer from TfL.
