Garden waste collection is back for another year
Following
the success of its Green Garden waste collection service last
year, Hounslow Council will be running the popular scheme
again this summer
Whether
its grass clippings, twigs, small branches, weeds or other
pruning detritus, the scheme will ensure that your the garden
waste is put to good use - all material collected is sent
for central composting, and the compost can be purchased from
Space Waye, the Councils Reuse and Recycling Centre, for
£1.50 per bag.
Leaflets
giving details of the scheme are being distributed this month,
with collections taking place from mid-May to mid-November.
The
leaflet will include an order form to purchase special biodegradable
Garden Waste sacks for residents interested in participating
in the scheme.
Residents
with sacks remaining from last year will be able to use them
once the service commences. This year sacks will NOT be sold
from the Civic Centre or Glenhurst Road, but will be available
to purchase by cheque or postal order through the post and
over the telephone or via the Internet using a debit/credit
card.
Anyone
who has not received a leaflet or want more information on
the scheme should contact the Recycling Team on 020 8583 5068
or email recycling@hounslow.gov.uk.
