Police are not treating death as suspicious
January 3, 2023 A person has died after being hit by a tube train this Tuesday morning (3 January) at East Acton station. The victim was struck by a Central line train shortly before 6am on the westbound platform. They were pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being treated as suspicious. The police are still trying to identify the person to notify their next of kin. A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said, "BTP officers were called to the Westbound platform of the Central line at East Acton Underground Station, London on Tuesday the 3rd January 2023 after a report that a person had been struck by a train. Officers from the BTP and emergency services attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 0556 hrs and is currently being treated as non-suspicious. "Medics from the London Ambulance Service also attended but the person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the person, and inform their next of kin. A file will be prepared for the coroner." The Central line was closed for much of the morning between Queensway and Ealing Broadway causing severe delays.
