Local roads most dangerous in London

There was major traffic disruption Thursday (29th September) due to a container lorry turning over on its side by the Hogarth Roundabout. Although there are no reports of anyone being hurt, the incident caused tailbacks stretching back as far as junction 3 (Cranford) on the M4 and also affected westbound traffic back to Hammersmith.

The lorry was on the eastern side of the roundabout in the section between the eastbound and westbound A4 carriageways so the A4 was not totally obstructed. However, if you were travelling east on the A4, it was not possible to turn right around the roundabout into Church Street or down the A316 south to Chiswick Bridge (except for buses).

The lorry was righted by placing airbags underneath it and inflating them. This has clearly the junction and latest reports are that traffic in the area is as it would be normally.
