Eleven year old Kit Davey & eighteen year old Robert Alexander (member of The Jacobites) have been selected from more than 100 entries, to be part of the final 20 acts to perform at this year’s Young Performer Live Final.
The night will be packed with musical talent including solo singers, singer songwriters, a jazz band, rappers and rockers.
It will also feature a poetry performance accompanied on a toaster, a dramatic monologue and feisty salsa dancing all performing on front of the Mayor and an audience of over 300.
Eleven year old Kit from Putney (pictured left) said:
" It's been a great experience so far and I'm really looking forward to the final on Sunday!"
The performers are between 11 and 19 year old and have demonstrated a depth of talent well beyond their years.
The finalists are:
· The Jazz Code (Jazz band aged 19,18 & 13)
· Derry Mensah (Solo singer, 19)
· Maisie Gould (Solo singer, 13)
· Kingsley & Jade (Dancers, both 14)
· Carmen (Solo singer, 14)
· Peter Walker (Solo singer + pianist, 19)
· Micah (Rapper, 11)
· Kit Davey (Solo singer, 11)
· Matthew Green (Singer/ guitar accompanied, 19)
· Lydia Hansen (Comedy / poem, 14)
· Kasa (Rapper, 16)
· Ultimatum (Rock Band, 18)
· B.A.N.D (Indy/pop band 14, 13)
· Jecoliah Parker (Dramatic monologue, 18)
· Georgia (Solo singer/ guitar, 14)
· Elyss (Solo singer, 11)
· Jay (Solo singer, 18)
· The Jacobites (Band, all 18)
· Ms Darks (Rapper, 19)
· Baker Mukasa (Solo singer, 14)
The winning act will claim the conveted title, a £300 cash prize plus a bespoke package of opportunities.
The show will be compered by poet and DJ Charlie Dark and will feature a guest performance from Essence Street Dance - runners up in the recent ‘b supreme’ festival competition for women in hip hop.
