Ideas Wanted for Neighbourhood Renewal Fund Projects
Cash taken from developers can be used for local schemes
Residents mark out proposed scheme at meeting in Tooting

Wandsworth Borough residents are being urged to make suggestions on how money in a new Neighbourhood Renewal Fund should be spent.
The money is coming from that taken from property developers as a condition of being granted planning permission. The council says it now wants to re-invest these funds based on residents’ requests.
An online map has been created on which you can ‘drop a pin’ to highlight improvements or changes needed and leave a request or comment.
The council says it will use this feedback to help make decisions on how to re-invest developer contributions back into local community improvements.
Speaking at the council’s Tooting community drop-in event last Saturday (16 March), Simon Hogg said, “Our Neighbourhood Renewal Fund ensures that developers in our borough contribute to making it better for all. This is our new approach to investing funding and we are working hard to make sure that you have a say in where we spend this money.
“I’ve really enjoyed hearing directly from people living in Tooting Bec and South Balham about their priorities for this area. We need to know what really matters to people living in all our town centres and neighbourhoods so please take five minutes to look at our interactive map and tell us what you think about your area.”
The Tooting event was the latest in a series of roadshow events at which the council leader, the local MP and ward councillors were invited to talk to residents and listen to local concerns and suggestions.
Councillor Simon Hogg answered questions on local issues including traffic, roads, community safety and Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture 2025 plans. Residents also enquired about council services and sought guidance and support from council staff and local police, alongside organisations including CREW Energy and Citizens Advice Wandsworth.
