Liberal Democrats are proposing the introduction of a graffiti clean-up squad in Hounslow. The proposals follow a campaign last year by Andrew Dakers, Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson for Brentford & Isleworth, to encourage volunteer action.

Andrew said, “After Sunaina and my inspection of St Paul’s Recreation Ground at the beginning of the month I was delighted to take part in the volunteer clean-up at the weekend. However I despair at how much graffiti remains just outside the park – and across Hounslow "

Lib Dem Campaigner Sunaina Kumar commented, " “It is not enough to only clean up racist and abusive graffiti. All graffiti blights the area and impacts residents’ quality of life, which is why a Rapid Response Squad is so essential.”

The Lib Dems would like the service to be available on a non-profit basis to private landlords. Residents can report racist and offensive graffiti to 020 8583 2620 for clean-up by the council.

To report a cracked or damaged highway or footpath you can email Hounslow Council's Highways Maintance Team by clicking here.
