Three in the borough become part of Ormiston Academies Trust
Three alternative provision (AP) academies in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham have been taken over by the Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT). In 2020 the TBAP trust announced that its financial position was unsustainable and it therefore was forced to relinquish control of the schools. It had been served with a financial notice to improve in August 2018 after failing to balance its budget. The trust blamed late payments by local authorities for its financial woes. The school in Shepherd’s Bush will now be know as the Ormiston Latimer Academy and the two in Fulham will become the Ormiston Bridge Academy and Ormiston Courtyard Academy. Many of the existing staff remain in post at the academies. Another school in London and TBAP’s associated management intervention centres (Childerley Centre, Golborne Education Centre and Westminster Education Centre) and Primary Outreach service have also joined OAT.
