Five-Week Gas Works to Disrupt Goldhawk Road

Residents and commuters are being advised to prepare for disruption as Cadent Gas begins major infrastructure works along Goldhawk Road on Sunday 3 August.
The project is expected to last for five weeks and will involve the upgrading of gas pipes along the short stretch of Goldhawk Road between the Askew Road mini-roundabout and the end of the shop parade near Paddenswick Road.
To accommodate these works, traffic management measures will be implemented. Three-way temporary traffic signals will control the flow of vehicles, and the bus lane in the affected area will be suspended. As a result, four bus stops—ST, SH, SC and SX—will be temporarily out of service. These changes are likely to impact public transport routes, including Route 94 and other services travelling through the busy double roundabout near The Oak pub.
Hammersmith & Fulham Council has announced that it will closely monitor the progress of the roadworks. A spokesperson for the council stressed the importance of completing the project swiftly, noting that the area could experience serious traffic delays during the works.
Cadent Gas also issued a statement thanking the public for their understanding. “Thank you, in advance, for your patience while we complete these essential works to futureproof the gas network in Shepherd’s Bush,” said a company representative.
