Saigon Saigon Confirms it is Permanently Closed
Owners of Vietnamese restaurant launch new venture in Shepherd's Bush

A number of regular customers of Saigon Saigon on King Street have been perplexed by its closure over the last few weeks and were hoping that it was just temporary for the holidays.
Unfortunately, it has now been confirmed that the Vietnamese restaurant is shut permanently. Having been there for over a decade, it was one of the longer surviving restaurants on the parade in Hammersmith which has traditionally seen a high turnover of establishments.
The large restaurant at 313-317 King Street had two connected dining rooms decorated with black and white prints from Saigon in the forties with dark wooden floors, bamboo partitions and traditional carvings.
It served authentic Vietnamese cuisine as well as some Thai and Chinese dishes describing its style as ‘the nouvelle cuisine of Asia’ with an emphasis on fresh herbs and vegetables.
The family that owned the restaurant also ran Ngon Deli on Chiswick High Road that closed this year. They said at the time that it was a relocation rather than a closure and, while confirming the end of Saigon Saigon, they have announced the launch of Sprigs Vietnamese which will open on 25 August at 24 Shepherd’s Bush Green (W12 8PH). The chefs and staff of Saigon Saigon will be transferring to this location.
A spokesperson said, “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support at Saigon Saigon. We sincerely hope that you will continue to enjoy our authentic cuisine at our new location.”
