The pub is a hub for sports and screens a wide range of sports which guests can watch on any of the 36 HD TVs or two projectors, all with audio and Sky Sports, BT Sports and Premier Sports packages. You can also pair the sporting action with some food including an offer, of a beer and a pizza or burger. There is also an array of real ales, ciders, spirits and soft drinks The Famous Three Kings aims to deliver a great atmosphere to watch sport, by decorating the pub for major sporting events by putting up flags and banners as well as providing some themed sporting activities to coincide with the action. The pub is currently dressed up, supporting the Women’s Euros and screening all the action, and will continue to show and support Women’s sports. Paul Eastwood, General Manager of The Famous Three Kings, said, “I am humbled that we have been shortlisted in this category again and that our work around showing live sport in the pub is being recognised. The team and I are big sports fans and it is great to be able to share that with guests who are regulars in the pub and those who visit from further afield. For us, it is about creating an atmosphere around the screening of live sports, and it is something that everyone enjoys and gets involved with. “The Great British Pub Awards is such a big event for the pub industry, and it is an achievement in itself being nominated again within these prestigious awards.” The awards recognise pubs, and their teams across the country for their hard work. Two rounds of judging have already taken place to choose the finalists, and further judging will commence over the summer with pub visits taking place. The Great British Pub Awards are taking place on Tuesday 4 October 2022 at the Escape to Freight Island in Manchester.
