Libraries in Hammersmith & Fulham hold regular events for children, with sessions on reading, languages, arts and crafts, Lego, coding and more. There are also special sessions for the under fives. Here's what's on offer in 2020: School visits to the library Did you know that you can arrange to bring your class to the library? H&F's libraries offer a range of fun, free sessions for schools. Ranging from an introductory visit to the library, to reading for pleasure by exploring favourite authors, to looking at online resources for homework help. Your class visit can also be tailored, so please contact your local library to discuss what is possible. Art and Science ClubCome and join this new club for children aged five years and older Mondays, 4.15pm to 5.15pm at Hammersmith Library. Places are limited to 10 children so please book at the library or email hammersmithlibrary@lbhf.gov.uk What is Chatterbooks?Love reading? Enjoy talking about books? Then Chatterbooks is for you. Fun, free activities and discussions about books; Chatterbooks are reading groups for children aiming to inspire you to read and develop confidence in expressing your opinions as well as talk about books. IXL clubUsing the IXL online learning experience, students from Phoenix Academy will help children practise their maths and English. Sessions run term time only. Shepherds Bush Library, Tuesday, 5pm to 6pm Italian conversation clubFor children up to 11 years old. Hammersmith Library, Fortnightly on Sundays, 1pm, from 21 July 2019. Italian story, play and rhyme timePlaygroup with stories and rhymes in Italian. £5 donation per session. No need to book, just come along. These sessions run term time only. Reading support with a therapy dogHammersmith Library has a special visitor every Friday between 4pm and 5pm. Starlett the therapy dog helps children to read aloud. No need to book, just turn up. Under fives and story and rhyme sessions Please arrive before the advertised time and be aware that some sessions can become busy and full very quickly. At times, staff will need to limit the number of participants in each session to ensure the safety of the children, parents and other library users.
