Police keen to speak to man over incident between West Brompton and Earls Court
British Transport Police officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak with after a woman was sexually assaulted during the morning rush hour on board a District line train between West Brompton and Earls Court stations. Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace. DC Yazdani adds: " I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may hold vital information that could help us in our investigation." Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference TSUB/B8 of 15/04/15. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. This investigation is launched at the same time as British Transport Police launch a new campaign called Report It to Stop It encouraging passengers to report unwanted sexual behaviour. Find out more about the campaign here. Transport police however say that across London, the rate of transport crime has fallen to fewer than eight crimes per million passenger journeys, the lowest ever level. Specifically on London Underground and DLR, crime has decreased by 14.4% in the last year in a time when passenger numbers on the Tube have risen by three%.
