The Met want you to nominate officers who have made outstanding contributions to crime prevention initiatives, improving the relationship between the local community and the police.

Supporting the award, Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin said: "Following the launch of Safer Neighbourhoods, the Met sees this competition as an ideal way to highlight and recognise the excellent work being done throughout the year by officers working within the communities of London.

"I would urge individuals and communities to nominate any officer whom they feel is deserving of this special recognition".

Last year's winner, Hounslow's PC Nick Alford said: "It was a great honour to be win this award. I am proud to have received thanks from the community I serve. I have never wanted to be anything other than a police constable. It's all about fairness and communicating with people".
