SASAC (South Acton Skills and Arts Collaborative) is a small charity that supports women by developing their skills in sewing and offering personal development classes. The charity is now seeking to appoint new members to the Management Committee and are looking for people who have experience in one or a combination of these areas:

marketing/advertising/promotion
charity work/fundraising
running a small business
education or an environment where skills transfer was the focus

Candidates should have an interest in supporting the community and building the potential in women to develop themselves through skills (sewing craft) and personal development workshops as well as enthusiasm, energy and willingness to commit to developing SASAC into a centre in the community for women to develop their skills and in return contribute to the community.

People who live or work in Acton or Ealing are very welcome, although this is not essential.

The commitment will be a minimum of 6 evenings in a year. The Management committee meetings will be from 1930-2130 (minimum 2 hours) and there will be emergency meetings or conference calls that may have to be agreed to discuss urgent matters. There may also be a requirement to give a few hours support and this could be by e-mail, telephone or face 2 face meetings.
