New Overnight Closures on Hammersmith Flyover |

Lanes to be shut over next three weeks for inspection and maintenance
Transport for London has announced further overnight closures on the Hammersmith Flyover, beginning October 14. TfL says that, though the major strengthening and refurbishment works to the flyover were completed on-time in early September 2015, it is important that from time to time, it inspects and carries out routine maintenance to the flyover to ensure its continued safe operation. Dana Skelley, Director of Asset Management with TfL says: " Over the coming weeks, we will be carrying out routine maintenance and inspections which will require some limited lane and one-directional closures of the flyover. " To minimise disruption to the travelling public and local area, closures will be at night time between Monday and Thursday, avoiding the busier weekend nights, with the one-directional closures being implemented at midnight." Between the following dates and time the Hammersmith Flyover will be closed: Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October from 10.30pm to 5am – Flyover will be open to traffic with a lane closed in both directions Wednesday 21, Thursday 22, Monday 26 October and Monday 2 November from 11.59pm to 5am – Flyover closed to traffic in the eastbound direction with a lane closure commencing from 10.30pm in both directions Traffic using the A4 Hammersmith flyover, travelling to and from central London, will be diverted via the Hammersmith Gyratory. TfL advises people to plan their journeys before travelling and apologises in advance for the inconvenience caused by these essential works. For more information visit TfL's Hammersmith Flyover page.
