British Transport Police (BTP) investigators are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance between three men and a woman in the booking hall at Ealing Common Tube station on Tuesday, this week resulting in one man, a 20-year-old from Acton, receiving medical attention from London Ambulance Service (LAS) for a wound to his back.

Police were called to the station following the incident, which occurred around 2.50pm, but the attacker was no longer at the scene when officers arrived.

The victim was taken to Central Middlesex Hospital and was later discharged.

Detective Sergeant Anthony Jones, the investigating officer, said: "We are making extensive local enquiries and speaking with witnesses and we are also asking for help from any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that can assist our investigation.

"We are working to trace any other witnesses in order to establish exactly what took place yesterday and how the man came to be wounded and ask anyone who was at the station between 2.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday, 2 September, to come forward and talk to us."

Passengers described their horror at seeing the man stabbed in broad daylight. The Police say they are unsure what weapon was used as the attacker ran off with it.
