Police are continuing their appeals to anyone who has any information following a shooting incident in Huxley Gardens at 7pm on Sunday 22nd April. A man in his fifties was shot several times as he was crossing the road after a car pulled up nearby and a man got out of the passenger seat The gunman then got back in the car and the car made off towards Brentmead Gardens. The vehicle is described as a Vectra that was dark in colour, possible blue/black/purple. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for gun shot wounds. He has since been discharged. DCI Fiona Mallon, Operation Trident said:"We are keen to speak to anyone who was in Brentmead Gardens, Twyford Abbey Rd, Park Ave or Huxley Gardens between 19.00 and 19.30 on Sunday 22nd. It was a lovely day, the sort of day when people are in their gardens, washing cars, socialising - perhaps coming back from the park along Twyford Abbey Rd. "We are very keen to speak to anyone who was out in any of these roads between 19.00 and 19.30. They may not even realise they saw anything; but they may have a vital piece of the jigsaw that could assist police in solving this crime." Anyone with any information should contact Operation Trident on 020 8733 4704 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. If you know anyone who may have been in the area at the time please forward this item to them. May 3, 2007 |
