Mystery as intruders ignore cash box full of money
There was bafflement at a local pharmacy when it was discovered that, after going to an enormous amount of effort to break in, intruders appear to have left the scene empty handed. Police were called to Mattock Lane Pharmacy, St John's Parade, W13 at 2245hrs on 6th January 2006 following an intruder alarm activation. On arrival they found that one of the store's security shutters had been forced open and that the window that it was protecting had been smashed. It appears that the shutters had been forced open before the windows were smashed. The keyholder, a 37 year old male pharmacist, attended the venue and indicated that the suspects may have moved the tills cash box out of the till. The cash box was found on the counter beside the till with money still present inside it. The keyholder believed that no money was missing but believed that it had been moved due to it usually being placed back in the till after the store had cashed up. The premises was last locked and secured at about 1700hrs on 06/01/2007 when the on duty pharmacist closed the store. It appears no property was taken. CCTV is currently being reviewed.
