March 6, 2023 Bus services along the Uxbridge Road and Ealing and Acton have been reduced after TfL changed the route of the 427 bus. It had previously terminated in Acton but will now finish at Merrick Road Southall. TfL says it has made the change to improve The route will continue to run every 8 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays, every 10 minutes during the daytime on at the weekend. TfL is advising passengers to use the 207 or the express 607 as an alternative.
The move reduces the number of buses serving Hanwell, Ealing at Acton with the introduction of the ULEZ just a few months away which has caused some local residents to question whether the Mayor is sticking to his pledge to improve outer London bus services to make it easier for people to use their cars less. The 207/607 route is scheduled to run every three to four minutes during peak hours but can already get very crowded and is expected to get even busier with the extra passengers due to the route change. TfL is not planning to increase provision on this route.
