£120,000 available as part of the West London Community Challenge
October 26, 2023 Groups who want to start community projects related to digital skills and sustainability in West London are being offered funding. Microsoft in association with non-profit organisation ChangeX are making £120,000 available for 11 projects based in a ‘W’ postcode area. This funding aims to support local community groups, schools, churches and other organisations that want to drive positive community change. Groups can choose from a portfolio of 11 proven ideas that ChangeX says have already had a positive impact in other communities across the world. Local groups who apply for funding to start one of the projects on offer will have 30 days to build a small team and design an action plan. On completing these steps, they will be eligible for seed funding. Ideas that can be adopted include a STEM Leaders Programme, Lego-based science projects for primary school children and Fresh Water watch schemes that aim to inspire residents to become citizen scientists.
