London Underground will be carrying out works on the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and Docklands Light Railway at weekends begining Saturday 5th December.

These works will inevitably result in some disruption for passengers, and TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Underground

The Bakerloo line on Sunday 6th December will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Willesden Junction due to Network Rail engineering work. Rail replacement buses will operate between Willesden Junction and Queen’s Park calling at Kensal Green.

District and Circle line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use nearby Temple or Mansion House stations and/or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from London Bridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.

The District line will be suspended between East Ham and Dagenham East on Sunday 6th December only due to track replacement work. Two replacement bus services will be running:

Service B: Between Barking and Dagenham East, calling at Upney, Becontree and Dagenham Heathway.

Service A: Between Barking and East Ham

Passengers travelling between central London and Barking or Upminster are advised to use the c2c train services to and from Fenchurch Street. Passengers travelling to and from stations between Upney and Upminster Bridge are advised to use the replacement bus services and change where necessary for local bus services.

The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.

The Jubilee line will be suspended all weekend - 5th and 6th December - between Stanmore and West Hampstead for line upgrade work. Two rail replacement bus services will operate as follows:

Service C: Between Stanmore and Wembley Park calling at Canons Park, Queensbury and Kingsbury.

Service D: Between Wembley Park and Finchley Road calling at Neasden, Dollis Hill, Willesden Green, Kilburn and West Hampstead.

Metropolitan line trains will stop additionally at Willesden Green to connect with Jubilee line replacement bus service.

The Metropolitan line will be suspended all weekend between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham/Chesham/Watford and also suspended between Aldgate and Finchley Road to facilitate the Jubilee line upgrade and track and signalling work. Chiltern Railways services are also suspended between Marylebone and Great Missenden, via Amersham.

Three rail replacement buses will be running:

Service A: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Chesham calling at North Harrow, Pinner, Northwood Hills, Northwood, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Chalfont & Latimer and Amersham.

Service B: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Watford calling at North Harrow, Pinner, Northwood Hills, Northwood, Rickmansworth and Croxley.

Service C: Between Northwood and Moor Park.

Chiltern Railways will also be operating an hourly replacement bus service as follows:

Great Missenden – Amersham – Beaconsfield (for trains to Marylebone)

Piccadilly line trains are not stopping at Earl’s Court station all weekend due to escalator refurbishment work. Passengers should use District line and local bus services.

Archway station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursdays until May 2010 for modernisation work. But the station will revert to full opening times between 24 December 2009 and 2 January 2010. Valid tickets will accepted on local buses between Highgate and Tufnell Park.

Clapham South station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday until late April 2010 for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Clapham Common or Balham. Balham station is in zone three.

Colliers Wood station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday until 23 December for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Tooting Broadway or South Wimbledon.

Northern line trains will not stop at King’s Cross St. Pancras all weekend for station improvement work. Passengers should use other LU lines and local bus services.

Northern and Victoria line trains will not stop at Warren Street station all weekend for station improvement work. Passengers should use local bus services or nearby stations.

The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. It does not run a Sunday service.

London Overground

Richmond to Stratford line

London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday. Passengers are advised to use the District line.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday only. Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Replacement buses, which will run between Hampstead Heath - Gospel Oak – Kentish Town West – Camden Road – Holloway Road (for Caledonian Road & Barnsbury) - Highbury & Islington - Canonbury – Dalston Kingsland – Hackney Central – Homerton – Hackney Wick – Stratford.

Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction line

London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Valid Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes, 220 between Shepherd's Bush Green and Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd's Bush station and Willesden Junction.

Watford Junction – Euston line

London Overground services will be suspended between Harrow & Wealdstone and Euston from 19:00 on Saturday. Passengers are advised to use the Bakerloo line, Victoria line, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines.

London Overground services will be suspended between Willesden Junction and Queen’s Park on Sunday. Rail replacement buses will run calling at all stations.

London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Euston on Sunday. Passengers are advised to use the Bakerloo, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

On Friday 4 December, DLR services will be suspended all day between:

Canning Town – London City Airport.

On Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, DLR services will be suspended all day between:

Blackwall – Beckton,

Blackwall – London City Airport.

On Monday 7 December, DLR services will be suspended between:

Canning Town – London City Airport (all day)

Westferry/Poplar – Beckton/London City Airport (from 16:00)

London City Airport – Woolwich Arsenal (from 19:00)

Replacement bus services will operate on all routes except to and from Woolwich Arsenal.
