South Western Railway advise passengers to check before travelling

A signal failure in the Barnes area this Tuesday morning (10 October) has led to severe disruption on South Western Railway services.

Trains were not able to run through the Barnes area affecting services from stations such as Chiswick, Putney, Brentford and Wandsworth Town.

The fault has now been fixed by engineers but disruption continues in the area and passengers are advised to check before travelling.

A South Western Railway statement later in the morning said, "we are currently working hard to introduce a train plan as soon as possible.

"We strongly advise you to check your individual journey before you travel whilst we recover the train service as some stations will still not have a train service. "
