A consultation document is to be delivered this week to around 2000 residents in and around the Bollo Lane area with details of proposed road safety scheme.

The aim of the scheme would be to reduce traffic speeds of vehicles heading southwards from the railway crossing and to make it safer heading northwards.

"There would be alterations to parking arrangements, paving, lines on the road and measures to reduce traffic speed, so do read the document and give your views," said Chair of Southfield Ward forum Councillor Gary Malcolm.

“I am informed that the closing date will be the 19th of November. If approved, any implementation would be after the 'embankment' works as it would be difficult to integrate the proposals given the traffic management required for the current works.”

He added: "If residents wish to ask any questions about the scheme or if you do not get a consultation form please email southfield@ealinglibdems.org.uk."
