The Timothy James & Partners London 10 Mile took place on Sunday in Richmond Park with thousands of runners tackling the hilly terrain. The run was preceded by a minute’s silence and a round of applause for our emergency services following the horrific events that unfolded in London the night before.

Alongside the 10 mile run, the 1 mile Family Fun Run hosted by children’s entertainers Sharky and George saw nearly 1,000 children and their families get involved and get active together.

After the run, the free Picnic in the Park event with entertainment and live music offered runners, their supporters and local families and residents the opportunity to make the most of the closed roads and enjoy the park to the fullest on what turned out to be a beautiful summer’s day.

The Timothy James & Partners London 10 Mile raised thousands of pounds for the event’s lead Charity Partner Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. The money raised by those who ran the beautiful route in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity will make a vital difference to seriously ill children across the UK who receive specialist treatment at GOSH. It could help to fund pioneering new research, the most up to date medical equipment, support services for children and their families, and the essential rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital.

Through an exclusive partnership, the Timothy James & Partners London 10 Mile also donated thousands of pounds to parkrun which will help the grassroots running organisation continue delivering free, weekly, timed 5k runs across the UK.

Jon Ridgeon, Executive Chairman of CSM Active said of the event: “London 10 Mile has been a huge success both in terms of being a great day out for families and a challenging but rewarding running event. At CSM, we’re really enthused by the overwhelming engagement the event enjoyed and look forward to introducing more closed road events to the calendar”

Tim Whiting, Managing Director of Lead Partner Timothy James & Partners, said: “I would like to offer a huge congratulations to all the runners who took part today both in the 10 Mile and the Sharky & George Family Fun Run. We feel proud to be associated with what was such a fantastic first year event and one which raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and parkrun.”

Laura Savory, Head of Community Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity added: “A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the Timothy James & Partners London 10 Mile at the weekend. Whether it was the first time you’ve tackled this distance, or you are a regular runner, your efforts and every penny you’ve raised will really help seriously ill children from across the UK who are cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Thank you for your support.”

parkrun Chief Executive Nick Pearson said: "We are proud to partner with such a fantastic event that proved hugely successful in attracting people of all ages and abilities. Encouraging physical activity in a welcoming and supporting environment is incredibly important and the Timothy James & Partners London 10 Mile has accomplished this in its first year. It was wonderful to see the parkrun community embrace the event so strongly and with thousands of people taking part, and 30% of entry fees being donated to parkrun, this success will help us in continuing to support local communities to establish and sustain free weekly parkruns up and down the country. We are excited to support CSM on future closed-roads running events."
