Friends of the Earth (FOE) members from groups around Heathrow will be taking part in a big procession and rally on Saturday 10 June against expansion of Heathrow.

The Heathrow event is one of many that will be taking place across the UK and Europe as part of an international 'Day of Action'.

Friends of the Earth will be parading a large advertising van with a message about Heathrow and climate change.

Nic Ferriday, aviation campaigner for Friends of the Earth, said "We will be highlighting the issue that none of the other campaigners and none of the councils mention. Yet climate change is the most important issue in the world and it is the most important reason of all why Heathrow should not expand any more."

Councillors are being invited to attend photocalls, so that they can show their support even if their council is not taking an active part in the event.
