Mind Wants Local Businesses to Drive Conversation on Mental Health | |||
Launches 30 for 30K campaign to raise £300K January 8, 2025
HFEH Mind is hoping to recruit 30 local businesses in each of three boroughs to foster community, support mental wellbeing and facilitate thirty thousand mental health conversations. The local branch of the national charity, which covers Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham, wants to raise £300K over 300 days. The 30 for 30K campaign has been launched along with the five local Mind shops, Rocks Lane Sports Facilities, Dona Donations, Ealing Eagles Running Club, Munchie Lunchie Productions, The London Art Exchange, Carlton Leisure, Mez Construction, Vault London, Old Hamptonians Cricket Club, and many more. The campaign focuses on storytelling from across west London and will feature viral stunts, workshops, special screenings, community engagement and a variety of other awareness initiatives. These include free tennis in partnership with Rocks Lane and Queens Club Foundation on Tuesdays 10:00am to 11:30am in Bishops Park, Fulham. HFEH Mind has asked partners to open-up and share what mental health means to them, how it has affected their lives, livelihoods, businesses, friendships and everything in between, while being asked to give back to their communities and patrons. Local businesses have multiple ways to support the campaign including simple social media support by aligning with the campaign, through to hosting donation stations in venues, bill round ups, campaign themed drink, dish, or meal deal revenue shares, hosting dedicated mental health workshops and events, salary sacrifice schemes, fundraising and supplying items for the campaigns’ random acts of kindness giveaways. Along with offering up free ad inventory, signage and signposting opportunities, venue space, donations, sponsorship opportunities and chances to volunteer and share their stories with HFEH Mind. The charity says that London is in the middle of a mental health crisis and by supporting this campaign, all Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow residents and patrons will be able to benefit from mental health services being signposted, increased general awareness of mental health and of early intervention and prevention services available to them, which help improve mental health across west London. Hammersmith currently has the highest suicidality rate in all of London.
The Campaign launches in the lead up to Mind’s Time To Talk Day on 6 February and will conclude 300 days after launch with a Charity Gala with both a silent and live auction, featuring pieces from Mr Phantom and Jakob The Artist kindly donated by Soho Gallery LAX, London travel agency Carlton Leisure providing a 5* holiday retreat, jewellery from celebrity jeweller Vault London, and artwork from the charity’s service users going under the hammer. The campaign will feature a drive to recruit the remaining businesses across each borough to help support the efforts and achieve their target of facilitating thirty thousand conversations about mental health and helping destigmatise the topic.
