Residents Braced for Five Days of Festival Republic
Crowds of up to 20,000 expected at Gunnersbury Park concert series
PAWSA in the Park kicks off the concert series

Gunnersbury Park is set to host five major open-air concerts this August, as Festival Republic brings a diverse lineup of artists. The events will run across two weekends—8–10 August and 15–16 August—and are expected to attract up to 20,000 attendees each day.
The series opens on Friday 8 August with electronic DJ PAWSA, followed by a Saturday billing featuring indie rock favourites The Libertines and Supergrass, alongside Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls, and Real Farmer. Sunday 10 August sees a headline performance from The Smashing Pumpkins, supported by Skunk Anansie, White Lies, VOWWS, and Rocket.
The second weekend begins on Friday 15 August with Khruangbin and special guests TV On The Radio, Palace, and NoSo. The final show on Saturday 16 August features global EDM star Martin Garrix, joined by Steve Angello, BUNT, Lavern Megisto, and Nova Blue.
Festival Republic has outlined a comprehensive traffic and sound management plan in an attempt minimise disruption to local residents. Measures include road closures on Popes Lane during evening hours, diversions for the E3 bus route, and additional stewarding and litter-picking in surrounding streets. All traffic turning into Pope’s Lane from the A406 will be diverted up to the junction of Gunnersbury Avenue and Baronsmede, then down Gunnersbury Drive to rejoin Pope’s Lane on the other side of the closure.
South Western Railway is diverting trains to stop at Kew Bridge to accommodate attendees at the events.
Sound checks will be limited to short intervals after 10am, and all concerts will end by 10:30pm. Pyrotechnics are planned for the PAWSA and Martin Garrix shows, with acoustic consultants monitoring volume levels throughout the events.
Festival Republic is working with an external acoustic consultant, Electric Star, who have drafted and oversee the noise management plan (NMP) and will be on and offsite to monitor sound levels on event days. There will be agreed volume levels monitored by Electric Star and approved by the local authority.
A resident coordinator will be available during all live events and until midnight each day on 020 3781 0001. There is also a dedicated email address residents can use to raise any concerns on gunnersbury.locals@festivalrepublic.com. Festival Republic suggests that any noise complaints should be made by phone so they can be logged and recorded.
While parts of the park will be closed for event infrastructure, access to the museum, sports centre, and other areas will remain available.
