Gunnersbury Park Regeneration Moves To Next Stage

Major repair works have started on the Small Mansion and the East Stables at Gunnersbury Park.
The project is being funded by Highways England and Historic England and will see repairs made to the roof and structural faults addressed. The works are expected to last around 12 months with a project to make the buildings useable again to follow.
A decision on what the buildings will be used for has not yet been made and the CIC which manages the park says it will be issuing more information about future uses and inviting interest from potential partners in due course.
Last week Gunnersbury Park received £367,365 of cultural recovery funding from Arts Council England.
This grant will help Gunnersbury recover from the severe impact of the Covid-19 lockdown and the loss of our park café due to arson last May. The CIC says the funds will allow it to expand its public programme and outdoor exhibitions, bringing more cultural offers for visitors and set the museum on the road to long term recovery and sustainability.
Chairman David Babington-Smith says, "We are delighted to have received this support from the Arts Council. The money will support Gunnersbury following a very difficult year financially, and help us grow our engagement with our local communities who have demonstrated such great support for the park and museum."
