There was traffic chaos around Chiswick, Ealing, Acton and Brentford this Friday evening (14 September) due to two incidents in the rush hour.

At around 6.15pm the North Circular had to be closed northbound after a motorcyclist fell from his bike near the junction of Popes Lane and Gunnersbury Avenue.

He was taken to a west London hospital where his injuries are not life threatening according to the police.

No arrests were made following the incident. The North Circular opened a few hours later.

Traffic conditions were already congested in the area at the time due to an earlier incident on the Chiswick Flyover between junctions 1 and 2 when a lane was blocked by a broken down car around half an hour earlier on the westbound carriage way. This led to tailbacks all the way to Hammersmith Flyover.
