Martin Bridger asked to take over 'challenging' Lambeth
The current Chief Superintendent of Ealing Borough has announced that he has been asked to take over as the Borough Commander at Lambeth. Martin Bridger oversaw a decline in the amount of crime in the Ealing area and the move is widely seen as offering him a chance to tackle an even more challenging borough. The new borough commander for Ealing is Chief Superintendant Colette Paul. Colette is the Commissioner's Staff Officer and she will be working alongside Martin Bridger for a short period of time to ensure a smooth handover. It is likely he will not take up his new post until early in the New Year. He said, "I have no doubt that the support I continue to receive from our partners and members of the community will be passed onto Colette, thus continuing to benefit everyone and help achieve the mission of making Ealing Borough a safer place to live, work and pass through." Whilst wishing his successor every success and commenting on how much he enjoyed his time at Ealing he added, "I would like to personally thank all the staff within the partnership and the wider community who have assisted in delivering the excellent results. The continued support, commitment, teamwork and excellent leadership qualities that have been portrayed throughout my time as Borough Commander, have proved pivotal in our success." In neighbouring Hounslow Borough the current Chief Superintendent, Jeff Harris is also moving on to be replaced by Dr. Ali Dizaei. |
