Police praise BrentfordTW8.com for its role in community relations
The results of the London Public Attitude Survey on policing have just been published and there are some encouraging messages for local police. Almost eight thousand people were interviewed across London from every Borough. In Hounslow over ninety percent of those surveyed felt that police were doing a fair job or better. The same proportion thought that Community Support Officers were doing a good or excellent job, significantly better than the rest of London . Local residents felt significantly safer from being assaulted than the rest of London , and less fearful of terrorist attack. The best news of all is that over eighty percent felt informed about what police are doing locally - almost twice as many as other Boroughs and highlighted the importance of local media such as BrentfordTW8.com in keeping the public information of what is happening in their communities. Simon Phipps, Superintendent of Hounslow Borough said "I welcome the findings of this report but there in no room for any complacency. We still have a significant number of people who are not satisfied with local policing and we will continue working hard to act on their concerns. We have achieved much over the last few years and Hounslow is now one of the safest places in London to live or work." October 6, 2006 |
