Register to vote or lose your voice
Residents in Hounslow will have a chance to influence the future of the borough in the local elections this May. Voting will take place on Thursday May 4, but if people are not on the borough’s Register of Electors they will not be allowed to take part. This week, all known households in Hounslow will receive a letter listing the names of people who are registered to vote. The council are asking that the information contained in the letter should be carefully checked, and if any information is incorrect e.g. a misspelt name, the householder should write to Electoral Services citing the mistake. The signature of the person affected must be included too. The names of all members of the household who are eligible to vote must be shown. If this is not the case, then the name of any missing eligible person should be written on the ER3 form provided and returned as soon as possible. Application forms for postal votes will be sent with the letter, and must be returned by 5pm on Tuesday 18 April to ensure electors are able to use their postal vote in the May election.
