A top local amateur orchestra has raised more than £10,000 for the charity War Child by performing for six hours on end at Westfield shopping centre.

The Kensington Symphony Orchestra conducted the six hour performance on Sunday February 10 at The Atrium in Westfield London where members of the public were invited to conduct the Orchestra for a donation.

The marathon performance raised over £10,000 for War Child, a charity aimed at protecting children in war zones across the world.

Thousands of impressed shoppers stopped to watch the grand 80-piece orchestra play six consecutive hours of live pieces based around the theme of ‘Love and…’, including well known compositions from Romeo and Juliet, My Fair Lady, Sleeping Beauty and The Paradise, which resounded throughout the centre.
