Shepherd's Bush residents are being asked to give council officials their views about local libraries over the coming weeks.

Council representatives will be visiting the two libraries in W12 in March to hear what local people think of the service the receive there. The Council say these views will help them form their new strategy for libraries.

Local meetings with councillors and officers will take place at:

Shepherds Bush Library: Monday 23rd March, 5 - 6.30pm.

Askew Rd Library: Thursday 26th March, 6.30 -

Among the questions being asked are:

• Are the current library opening hours useful to you?

• How do you think we could improve the physical environment of this library?

• What events and activities would you like to see?

• How can we ensure staff meet your needs?

• What would you like to see this library focusing on for the future?

Many of the sessions will be attended by Cllr Paul Bristow, cabinet member for residents’ services. “We are looking forward to getting out and about and talking to people about what they would like to see in libraries. We are also keen to speak to people who do not use our libraries and to find out why that is the case," Cllr Bristow said.

Residents will have a chance to comment further on the future direction of libraries in the borough through a questionnaire that will appear in libraries and on the Council's website in the coming weeks.
