Neighbour Net Ltd is registered in England and Wales under the 1985 Companies Act  (Company Number 3859665) which was set up in 1999 with the specfic purpose of providing online local news.

Capital was provided by the current directors of the company who still own a controlling interest in the company.

The company has no political or religious affiliation and aims to provide balanced and unbiased news with editorial independence for the journalists working on the sites.

The operation continues to be funded mainly by advertising revenue from a diverse range of businesses across the coverage area. No single business accounts for more than 3% of total revenue

The company forms a network of local web sites which covers a large part of West and South West London. The company was formed in 1999 and believed to be the biggest provider of dedicated hyperlocal news online in the U.K.

Group wide there are over 49,000 registered members and the sites get collectively around 130,000 unique user sessions a month.
