Traffic on roads on both sides of Putney Bridge has ground to a halt due to a large procession of bikers gathering for a funeral.

The procession through Fulham and Putney on Monday, 13 February is affecting Peterborough Road, New Kings Road, Putney Bridge, Putney High Street, Putney Hill, Tibbets Corner, and A3 Kingston Road.

At 2pm, the procession has left Fulham with traffic now moving on the north side of Putney Bridge, but is now causing northbound queues on Putney Hill to Upper Richmond Road. Southbound traffic is also slow moving and drivers and bus passengers are warned to expect delays.

Inspector John Childs of Parsons Green and Walham Safer Neighbourhood Team has contacted local residents saying, " We are aware of large numbers of mopeds on the borough today. A police operation is underway with the support of specialist traffic officers."
