Miranda Hart, star of BBC TV's Call the Midwife and her own sitcom, has pleaded with burglars to return her laptop, which was stolen from her home in Hammersmith on October 12.

On her Twitter account @mermhart the 40 year-old actress and comedienne wrote: " If people who stole my laptop last night in W6 out there. Please please please return. Precious creative projects all lost. Will reward. RT. "

Though thousands of fans have retweeted her appeal, the laptop and other items stolen from her home have not yet been returned and no arrests have been made, though local police have sent a message to Miranda on their Twitter account @MPSHammFul asking her to follow them so they can contact her through Direct Messages.

The police have confirmed that they were called to reports of a burglary at an address in Hammersmith on Friday October 12 and that inquiries are continuing.
