Harvey Rose Retires After Twenty Years As Councillor

Southfield ward Councillor Harvey Rose of the Liberal Democrat Party is standing down after twenty years in local politics.

Councillor Rose said: “It has been a pleasure as a Liberal Democrat Councillor to represent the residents of Southfield over the past 20 years, dealing with all kinds of issues, helping people with difficulties and improving the area."

During his time Councillor Rose has been instrumental in many initiatives affecting Chiswick and Acton including:
• WApril 17, 2014tore in Cunnington Street
• Helping to negotiate new lights for half of Southfield

• Getting new playgrounds on Acton Green Common and Southfield Rec.

Councillor Harvey Rose said: As I stand down, I hope Gary Busuttil, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Southfield, is elected. He is an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about getting things done, and working with local residents associations and the local police team.”

Gary Busuttil (above) said: “Harvey Rose has my admiration for the energy and effort that he has given during his time as Councillor. His knowledge is inspiring, his drive to get things done is admirable, his attendance in the council is second to none. If elected, I hope to continue the hard work Harvey has given over the last 20 years to the constituents of Southfield, he is a great mentor, and his shoes will be difficult to fill.”
