Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank is among local organisations coming to the aid of people who have been affected by the devastating blaze in Grenfell Tower in North Kensington.

The foodbank says it has already donated all the bedding and clothing it had to St Clements Church in Notting Dale, which is looking after those affected and is now preparing its response to food shortages.

The foodbank says its Hub@75 Bloemfontein Road in White City is open until 1.30pm today, 14 June for local people to gather and bring donations.

Food which can be donated includes:

  • Tinned fruit and vegetables
  • Long life juice
  • UHT and powdered milk
  • Tinned rice pudding and other desserts
  • Tinned meat
  • Sugar
  • Pasta sauce in jars

There is also a need for toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo.

The foodbank has collection points across the borough, including Hammersmith Town Hall, libraries, supermarkets and Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre.

The charity has three centres, each in a different part of borough

White City Distribution Centre, The Hub @ 75 is at 75 Bloemfontein Road, White City W12 7DA. It is open every week on Mondays, 12.30pm - 3pm; Wednesdays, 10am - 12pm and Saturdays, 10am - 12.pm.
