Operation Mincemeat Returns at The Riverside Studios | |
Musical version of the story of how Hitler was deceived
The musical version of Operation Mincemeat is to be staged at the Riverside Studios. A new film of the story starring Colin Firth is currently showing at cinemas but the stage version has been selling out theatres since 2019. Having been performed as the New Diorama Theatre in 2019 and Southwark Playhouse, it is now coming to Hammersmith. It tells the story of a cunning plan to deceive Hitler in 1943 by hiding fake invasion plans on a corpse. The Riverside Studios describes it as ‘Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Noel Coward meets Noel Fielding’ and says it is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II. Preview performances begin on 28 April and it runs through until 9 July with performances at 7.30pm Monday to Saturday and Thursday and Saturday matinees at 3pm. Tickets can be booked online for £35 or £25 for concessions with all preview performances costing £25.
