A Busy Weekend On The Thames |

Over 300 crews will race each day on Saturday and Sunday
2018 sees the Eights Head races running over one weekend. The Women’s Eights Head of the River Race which was founded in the 1930s with 5 crews participating has now become the largest women’s rowing race in the world with around 2,880 women racing and 319 crews taking part this year which starts at 9.45am on Saturday 10 March. It is raced on the River Thames over 4 miles and 374 yards, or 6.8 kilometres, from the start at the University Pole in Chiswick to the finish at Putney Pier - the University Boat Race course in reverse.
